Labiaplasty

LABIAPLASTY MINORA (LABIAL REDUCTION)

Labiaplasty Minora is a specific type of vaginal reconstructive surgery that removes uneven or excessive skin from the smaller interior vaginal lips (labia minora). This excess skin can cause chronic irritation for some women because of rubbing and chafing. Discomfort can also occur with sex, sports or other physical activities.

Women electively choose labiaplasty surgery for various reasons. Many women are born with large, irregular or asymmetric labia which can be seen with tight clothing and swimsuits. Others develop this condition during puberty, after childbirth or with aging. The appearance of the enlarged labia can cause embarrassment with a sexual partner or loss of self-esteem.

LABIAPLASTY MAJORA (LABIAL REDUCTION)

The labia majora are the outer lips of the vagina that are visible for all women. However, these lips can grow larger than normal and be visible through certain types of clothing. Enlargement can occur because of pregnancy, childbirth, drastic changes in weight or aging.

Dr. Hantes offers a safe reduction procedure that not only reduces the size of the labia majora, he does so in a way that hides any scarring associated with the operation in the crease between the inner and outer labia.

Labiaplasty is usually performed in the office under local anesthetic. The procedure takes about an hour and recovery time is approximately two to three days.
